Empty City Centre Properties

You may have noticed that some empty properties in the City Centre have been given a bit of a facelift. Working with Newport Now BID, and with funding from the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme, Newport City Council has used artwork from local school children to create designs for a shop-dressing project. The designs, which have Newport themes with the children’s drawings incorporated into them, have been installed in empty shops throughout the City Centre. It forms part of the Council’s drive to make the City Centre a more attractive place to visit, live and work, and will hopefully inspire people to look again at these spaces and consider new uses for some of the units.

If you have questions relating to any of these properties, please contact the agents/developers indicated on the artwork, or alternatively contact Newport City Council’s Economic Development Team at business.services@newport.gov.uk
